Who controls your data

SomaPlan is operated by SomaPlan, trading as SomaPlan, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: speedyhanieldevelopers@gmail.com. This page is maintained by the SomaPlan owner to explain how the service handles personal data.

What we collect and why

  • Account data — email address and login credentials, to create and secure your account (performance of our contract with you).
  • Teacher profile — name, school, county, TSC number, phone and preferred level, used to fill in the headers of your printed planning documents (contract).
  • Planning content — class contexts, curriculum strands, schemes of work, lesson plans, records of work and assessments you create, stored so you can return to them and so documents stay aligned (contract).
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser information, and error logs, used for security, fraud prevention and improving the product (legitimate interests).
  • Support messages — what you send us when you ask for help (legitimate interests).

Who we share it with

  • Hosting and database providers that run the application and store your content.
  • AI processing providers that generate draft documents from the class details you supply.
  • Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of subscriptions, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
  • Authorities where we are required to by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

Retention

We keep your account and planning content for as long as your account is open. If you close your account, content is deleted or anonymised within 90 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax or accounting reasons.

Your rights

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 — and equivalent laws where they apply to you — you may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of or objection to processing, and a portable copy; you may withdraw consent where processing is based on it, and complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. Email speedyhanieldevelopers@gmail.com and we will respond within one month. Where data is processed outside Kenya by our hosting, AI or payment providers, we rely on contractual safeguards with those providers.

Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, row-level access rules so teachers can only read their own records, and restricted administrative access.

Cookies

We use essential cookies and browser storage only — to keep you signed in and to run the checkout. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block these in your browser, but signing in will not work without them.
